I am correct right? May is lyme disease awareness month? Does anyone have a good resource to turn to in order to find free pamphlets to hand out that are worth the read? any good website that would have helpful info for the public? I am having a garage sale, and i want to order my lyme survivor t-shirt, where it that day, and spread the word about lyme. I live on a busy block, so i get tons of people. Good place to start!!

Traveler - i wrote a thread about a month or two ago and never had a chance to reply to you and a few others, but i absolutely cannot find it. it was the one where i mentioned how i wanted to get myself involved as a pharmacist - and you asked how i wanted to get involved (like changing the law, etc) - i know you reply to countless threads, but is there any way i can find it? must i know the exact title? thanks!

Sorry it took me so long to see this, Chapelle!!

Yes, May is Lyme awareness month!!! Everyone can participate in local activities or just put a sign on your front lawn!! I use "Lyme green" ribbon and write on it "Lyme awareness" and wrap it around my purse as it get attention and I've been stopped and asked about it that way before too!

You'll have to check with where ever you buy the shirt or product. I don't know if Cafe Press donates back to Lyme or not, but I know they have a large selection of Lyme awareness items [url]http://www.cafepress.com/+lyme-disease+gifts[url]

And I don't receive a darned thing for mentioning them - dang it!!

And to help get everyone riled up for Lyme awareness month (May), here's what's being said about us now:

"On Saturday, just days before the planned protest by the Lyme disease advocacy group, The Mayday Project, at the headquarters of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), in the publication Morning Call, Johns Hopkins Hospital infectious disease specialist Dr. Paul Auwaerter made a comparison surely to trigger more controversy and reaction.

Auwaerter reportedly likened Lyme disease to the John F. Kennedy assassination and global warming, that lend themselves to conspiracy theories. “When you don’t understand something, you try to insert a framework that makes sense to you,” he said."

www.LymeDisease.org There's a list of May Lyme Awareness events
As far as ordering flyers and printed material. I'm not sure.
I'd go to www.ilads.org and see if they can help with that.
Good luck with your garage sale and wearing a T-shirt.
I'd also google Lyme T-shirts and see what comes up.

harmful bacteria. A new treatment for Lyme. Only wish it worked!

Truth stranger than fiction? All you have to do is read this forum to know that's true!! Read the stories of what we have been through to get our diagnosis!

But I agree - it's down right scary!!!
