For about 2 months I have been experiencing tinnitus/vertigo in my left ear only. I had it checked and it did have fluid in it, but the doctor said it was allergies. I have also been having sporadic episodes where I either couldn't fall asleep and stay asleep (wake up each day around 6) or I would wake up gasping for air with an increased heart rate.
Fast forward to April 26, 2015 when I donated a pint of blood to my local blood drive (2nd time donating). The very next day I woke up, walked the dogs, then went out to lunch with my fiance. Upon arriving home, my heart rate skyrocketed to over 170 bpm and I called an ambulance where they calmed me down and slowed my heart rate to 105 thinking it was a panic attack. Upon arrival at the hospital, they took another EKG to compare to the one in the ambulance and everything looked normal, just fast. I was in the waiting room for 3 hours before they took me to the back and hooked me up to fluids and ran blood tests. All came out normal. I was admitted, and they hooked me to a personal heart monitor for the next 8 hours or so. All tests on my heart came back normal - EKG, Xray, Ultrasound, bloodwork, everything. I was diagnosed with sinus tachycardia and have a follow-up with a cardiologist next week.
My question is...I was bitten by a tick a few years (3 or 4?) ago near my pelvis. I didn't get sick from it and did not need treatment for it (as far as I can remember). However, the site itched for years later and left a scar. It hasn't itched/bothered me in 2014 or 2015. Could the tick have administered lyme disease and it's just been dormant for this long? All of my symptoms that are heart related came on quite suddenly and the tinnitus/sleep problems happened over the course of a month or two. Should I ask to be tested for lyme? I am quite scared which isn't making anything better. Right now my symptoms are just the tinnitus in my left ear and that when I stand or exert myself, my heart races and pounds. I haven't eaten a real meal in almost a week due to the palpitations though I have been getting plenty of fluids and munching on crackers. The only thing that makes me feel better is if I sit up completely straight. It makes moving around the house hard. Should I be tested for lyme? I am also very trembly in my arms/legs almost all day long.
