Girlie,
This is a publication about
ticks and tea tree oil:
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15817219But you need to be careful with pets:
www.petmd.com/blogs/thedailyvet/ken-tudor/2014/january/tea-tree-oil-safe-pets-31282I use it to repell mosquitoes and fleas (I always get bitten in summer when going into town, whenever it's hot and humid). I'm a real bug magnet... Whenever I get bitten by an insect, it starts to swell, itch like crazy and forms blisters, it takes between 1 and 2 weeks to go away. All that disappears when I apply tea tree on it.
It's part of my standard equipment in summer
Some people react badly on tea tree oil, so you might try it on a small piece of skin first and/or dillute it...
