Very informative article. I noticed the name of the author, a doctor that some members of this forum have had as their LLMD in the past. This doctor was recently criticized very harshly in this forum a few days ago. One person even commented that "I would not recommend this doctor to my worst enemy".

I actually posted that, but never used any names.

I do stand by my harsh criticism of the past doctor of mine. Have also heard the same negative issues from many others. Unfortunately he refused to test me for lyme, I presented him with a list of over 30 lyme symptoms I had (showed him same list on 5 different occasions). He asked me if I knew of a tick bite and when I said no...he said "then lyme isn't a good fit" and basically gave up helping me. Not how I thought a llmd would be.

When I finally was tested for lyme (not by him) I was igenex & cdc positive. Found a good llmd who said he would have diagnosed me in 5 minutes. Wasted so much money and precious time with him.

Healing98 & RG-good for u speaking out about this man. Sounds like an a-hole, & sux that u, RG, had to deal with this doc's arrogance & ignorance (lethal combo)!

Y can't we all just love & work together? Oh--yeah-damaged egos (!) somehow pushing aside the hippocratic oath & compassion. Dr Dick, I bequeath him now. Did ya send a few LD pamphlets & articles for the doc to hone his skills? I'd just assume some little pet ticks should pay him a visit!

~Runnergirl... I cannot believe the way he treated you... especially since he wrote this article?
There is no excuse for him doing that... he has proven with the information in the article that
he is most certainly NOT without knowledge regarding Lyme Disease!

Yet another example of "feigned ignorance" ... Absolutely Disgraceful !!!

I am sure other people may have had good experiences with him but I always feel it's important to tell people what happened to me. He should have suspected it in me by my symptoms and at least tested me even just to humor me!

Oh well, onto better things! Grateful for my current LLMD.

I just cringe that you had such a crappy experience with that MD. I know people generally just want to move on, as I have in the past. But please consider forwarding your positive test results to him w/ a short note that you simply wanted to follow up so that there is even the slightest chance that he will think twice the next time before he refuses to test someone…

P...actually as soon as I got my positive results I did exactly that! Emailed him the results and reminded him of all my symptoms. He responded very casually that he didn't think at that time lyme was a good fit, and we'd discuss "possible" treatment at my next appointment. I quickly cancelled my appt and found a new doctor.

What bothers me the most is that he is referred to as a LLMD.

GOOD FOR YOU. I hope he is not one of those "professionals" who love to advertise their "expertise" without the experience to back it up. If enough people complain about him, hopefully something will come out of it and he will be exposed. Glad you're under someone else's care now!
