Yes, birds are a significant carrier of ticks that carry lyme (in fact out here in CA, most bird species that were tested in Northern California, 40 or so, were found w/ lyme infected ticks). And birds migrate as do other animals.
Also, lyme has been found to be sexually transmitted and it's in the blood supply… so, opportunities for transmission are plenty, despite the musings of a vast majority of the medical profession who think that geography, seasons, the lack of a live tick in your possession or an EM ( bulls eye) rash, and/or their particular mood during your appt are valid reasons for diagnosing the absence of lyme & co… w/out any clinical investigation or testing. LLMDs are critical.
