Where do I have my blood drawn? (UK)

That's a shame. I'm new to this forum (just joined today) and my GP practice were happy for the nurse to do my blood test for Igenex. They just charged me £10.

I believe that many private hospitals will do blood tests. Find your nearest and phone and ask them.

I called my GP today and they said my type of request was the first of it's kind they have had. I asked them if they could draw my blood for testing, and that the testing would be done in Germany via a lab called Infectolab.

The receptionist on the phone sounded genuinely confused. She said blood taken by the phelobotomist would only be taken back to the NHS hospital to be tested. She was not comfortable in allowing me to have my blood taken then handing it back to me so I could send it off somewhere else. She wanted to get my Doctor involved, but as soon as she said that I knew it was game over as my doctor would just reject my request as we all know NHS doctors don't believe Lyme is real.

I need to find a private Doctor or someone qualified to draw my blood that is not connected to the NHS.

If I could find someone willing to take my blood I could send my test off next week and have my results before I know it!

Very frustrating! All I want is my own blood in a sample tube! Why is it so hard?!

If any members know of anyone who could help me in the UK please message me.

i think your GP, doesnt believe in the testing and treatment of lyme, that is done by LLMD, or by labs that have questionable testing methods. \
Dismissing in the existing is lyme, is not possible, since lyme does exist, they just wont accept "chronic lyme as a term". Have you done the regular testing?

No, I don't think I will either, my Doctor would not take me seriously if I asked for a NHS Lyme test.
He will ask for a bullseye rash, if I can't show him one he will say I don't have Lyme and won't test me.
To be honest, I'm done with my GP, fed up of wasting time with him, wasted a year already.

My wife has a friend who is a nurse, I may ask her if she could take my blood, cheers for the advice.

That's perfect, so convenient, very envious! I hope you get the results you are hoping for. Please let us know when you get your results in.

I have been e-mailing Infectolabs back and forth today and I am going to order there new LymeSpot Revised test - Any opinions?

Personally, and it is only personally mind, I would speak to the doc first. -depending on your history you may find you get a clinical diagnosis and spare the expense of a bloodtest that may prove nothing (or not disprove anything) anyway?
