Hi everyone,

I am looking for an LLMD in the far Chicago northwest and western suburbs. Specifically around Elgin, South Elgin, St. Charles, Geneva, etc. My email should be visible in my profile.

In my opinion there aren't any in IL that are truly worth going to. Going into WI is a better idea...

I'm in the streamwood/hoffman estates/schaumburg area and honestly I agree with runnergirl82 about there being none that are worthy in illinois. I travel to waupaca, wi to see dr. H who is my LLMD (about 3 1/2 to 4 hours each way) then I travel to Waukesha, wi to see dr. M and she's my LLND (about 1 1/2 to 2 hour drive each way). If you need more info feel free to email me. I also see Dr. H in Waupaca, WI.

For a few months while trying to figure out what was wrong with me, I saw a "LLMD" in Park Ridge, IL. I put that term in quotations because that is what he refers to himself as, though he had no idea what was wrong with me and misdiagnosed me for months.

Once I saw someone else, they diagnosed me in 3 minutes, and then I tested positive as well.

I found a LLMD in Chicago - She's the only local doctor who's affiliated with the International Lyme and Associated Disease Society. And she takes insurance. She's practices both traditional and alternative medicine.

Just and FYI, there's a chicago lyme support group that meets once a month at sherman hospital in Elgin. I went last month and it really helped to see people face to face that suffer from this too. So, it might be something to look into! :)
