My short term disability insurance company is trying really hard to deny my claim.
I was unable to work as a firefighter from October 2014 to April 2015 due to cognitive deficits, fatigue, insomnia, etc from European Neuroborreliosis - Euro Lyme.
I applied in February when I finally got positive WB results. Neuropsych testing showed mild deficit in executive function. My MD sent a letter to STD Insurance Co. saying my clinical and lab findings are consistent with Lyme. A Professor of Neurology at the University sent a letter saying it was indisputable that Lyme made me unable to work.
STD Insurance Co delays by requesting more medical info, even after they have enough to conclude I was disabled.
I consulted with a disability law firm. They would take 40% if we won.
I know some of you have fought insurance companies.
I ask you for advice.
