Herx or allergic reaction to abx

Two days on doxy and now I am itchy all over, curious is this herx or allergic reaction to doxy. I have had itchiness with hives to amoxicillin years ago and a strange reaction to Biaxin about a year after that and only taken one other antibiotic since then, this year which I only had really bad reflux with it.
What should I look out for?

Hi Iheartx

Doxy (belonging to the group of tetracyclines) can make one oversensitive to UV light and cause itchines. Have you been out in the sun?
If so, you should really protect yourself, or better, try to avoid being out in the sun, I know it's not easy...
If not, I would advice you to call your dr, since it's not the first time you had similar issues with other groups of abx. It could be an allergic reaction.

Thank you, it is mild itching and I was out in the sun last evening but still itchy this morning. I will call the doctor.
