Hi Tbohl, I hear ya - been having those flashes you speak of on/ off for 6 years now since the Lyme "attacked" my head. Am on my 15th year now with Lyme and I must say since the Lyme travelled to the head region, it has been really rough. I have thorough eye exams every 6 months because apparently my retinas are very thin. When I am under tremendous stress, I do notice that the flashes happen more often, as well as floaters, "sparks" that resemble fire flies and the thing I will never get used to is when I get the occasional after-images in the eyes. It is awful. Lately, the headaches and weirdo head pains, wonkiness in the head feeling, hot spots, unbalanced, almost dizzyish feelings are also happening more frequently now. I think the key to managing this vision/ head thing is to try not to be stressed or to avoid stress at all costs because it some how drives the co-infections into "party" mode. Hang in there, you will have better days.

Thank you for the encouragement
I def. Need it today!!!! I have read that it can get better with treatment... I sure hope so, its scary to think this lyme has traveled to our head. We are all fighters though!

Yes, it can get better!
I didn't have the flashes...but i definitely have, have had brain issues with lyme.
My brain symptoms have come a long way. They started in April, 2013 (although I didn't know I had lyme then)...I had terrible anxiety attacks, and bouts of depression with crying episodes...and months later came the short term memory loss, some confusion, and feeling of being overwhelmed. I told my husband I felt like I was losing my mind...and "I don't know who I am anymore"...just weird stuff.
I also feel some pressure in the front of my head behind my eyes sometimes, also feeling like there is a pulse in my head (like a heartbeat) sometimes.
So, my anxiety attacks are pretty much gone...now and then I will have a bit of low level anxiety.
I don't cry as much as I used to. It used to be daily. My brain function has improved a lot...except on my bad days. The head pressure behind my eyes is still there, but not as bad...I rarely get the feeling of a pulse in my head anymore.
So just keep on treating, taking care of yourself...you'll get there....slow and steady wins the race.
