For those of you with tinnitus ?

How many of you have pulsatile tinnitus ( when u hear your heart beat in your ears ) ?

Is it in one or both ears ?

Is it constant of triggered by something ( like head movement or bending down )?

I have been having this pulsatile tinnitus for a while and it started a while after my symptoms, so I am trying to c if it's related to my symptoms ( not yet diagnosed officially ) or it's something else ( maybe it's the culprit behind my illness )

I am so scared because some causes behind it could be fatal like fistula or aneurysm ?

So please tell me honestly if this symptom look normal ?

I don't have ear ringing by the way just pulsing in one ear in synch with my heart beat with some head movement.

So I have this. I had lots of health issues and ears-fatigue-hand eczema and planter fasciitus are whats left of my health issues.
I had los of dental issues and just got a cavitat ( ultrasound) and the wisdom tooth space hasn't healed up yet-and its been over a year.

Most of my health issues went away as I cleaned up my dental-like my ibs that I had for years. The strange thing is all of my remaining issues match up with the wisdom tooth space on the dental meridian chart. Could that be dumb luck- sure-but either way I am not leaving a festering infection in my jaw-that would wear down my immune system ad leave me open for other major and minor health issues.

So I would get a cavitat-might just be our answer.

I had this a lot as well, and it was very frustrating and irritating. It is most definitely a possible Lyme symptom. Once my Lyme healed, I quit having this issue and in general, my tinnitus reduced drastically as well.

I have had this for so ling I've always that it was normal. Then one day I mentioned it to my husband as "you know like when lay down to sleep you hear your pulse in your ear." His reaction was, what the h are you talking about.

Since then I have asked on the forum and people do have it. Nobody knows if it the Lyme or possibly one of the confections.

Don't get worked up about the other possibilities, treat the Lyme and co, then see if you still have it.

I know this post is a couple years old, but I also have pulsatile tinnitus. It's the symptom I found most disturbing and unbearable. I've had it for a couple of years now. It started off in both ears with intensity and along with headaches. It would start at about 4-5 in early evening and last until about an hr after I got up. It along with the headaches made sleeping difficult to impossible. The right ear was always worse andante rankle the left side stopped on its own. At some point before I knew I had Lyme I was given amoxicillin for a sore throat and by the tenth day I felt great, actually normal. But after a few days it all slowly came back. I also had ear pressure, sound sensitivity, throughout the day and night on and off and a thunder/water/wind noise when I bent over.
It's been a long road full of doctors and scans as I'm sure most people go through but was never given a definitive explanation of why or what is causing it. I found out some strange anatomical things but no one ever said any would cause the pulsating. Slowly it's gotten better but I still hear it at some point daily. I can mJe it occur when I turn my head really far to the left. I can stop it when I press on my artery or jugular vein(?). I can pop my ear and it'll stop for a sec or turning certain ways makes it stop. I also have a muscle on the same side that runs along my neck(platysmus?) that no longer contracts and this redeems to run along the artery. It all really freaks me out and I go to bed telling my kids how much I love them cause I'm not entirely sure what causes me. I'd like to think and actually hope its from the Lyme and will eventually go away as I get better. I just wish I could understand what causes it and then if it's nothing too bad I could at least know it's not something life threatening. Is it inflammation and internal parts making contact? It's a very disturbing symptom. I hope you've gotten some answers by this point and if not some relief. I hope the best for everybody.

I had posted previously in this thread about the pulsatile tinnitus.
Mine is definitely from my lyme and/or coinfections.

When it first started, I would also get a pulsing in my head when I stood up from sitting position. I kept taking my blood pressure thinking that's what was wrong...but my bp was fine.

The tinnitus - pulsing in my ears was only noticeable when i put my head on the pillow and the side that was on the pillow - I would hear/feel the pulse...and even a swooshing sound when it was really bad.

It is negligible now...since treatment, only once in a while to I notice it.

I found this website - if you scroll down and read "OTHER POSSIBLE CAUSES" - Lyme disease is listed.
