I know I have chronic Lyme, but it seems impossible even at Igenex to get a 100% diagnosis of it because of having it for 4 years my immune system is weak I'm guessing. Anybody know of a way or a different lab that's highly accurate to get a positive test. Maybe even an LLMD who only treats symptoms because there aren't many in the Boston area, thanks.

Colin - have you done the Igenex WB IgG and IgM?
If so, did you have any positive/IND bands?
You don't need a positive test - often you will get a positive band, or some IND's - that with your history, symptoms should be enough?
The test is only used as a back-up to a clinical diagnosis.
Are you having trouble with LLMD's treating you based on not having a positive test result?

What about
the Infecto Lab in Germany? I don't know anything about
it...is it more accurate/reliable than one that goes on antibodies?

Yup I had 1+ and 3 INDs on the IGm and 3 +s on the IGg. Came up negative on both by CDC and Igenex standards. LLMD wants to put me on herbs for 4 months and test again, but I know it would just be a waste because I have it

Why does your LLMD want to test? I see that you said in your other thread that she's definitely a LLMD (

)
but Lyme is a clinical diagnosis.

A LLMD shouldn't be relying on a positive Igenex test. She must not be Lyme Literate.
There's oodles of literature/guidelines by well known LLMD's saying that the test is just a back up to the clinical diagnosis...it helps if there aren't a lot of symptoms, etc....
And...you have 3 +'s on the IgM? I think you need to change Docs. Do you know she is ILADS trained?

Even the CDC says that positive test results aren't necessary!! I would push her more on why she feels this is so necessary. The only reasons I'm aware of for the need of a positive test is for insurance purposes and for the patient's own peace of mind.
Seriously, it makes no sense what so ever for a LLMD to require a positive test, unless they are more worried about
being persecuted than treating those that have been infected and are being ignored. These doc's are actually part of our issue - when they say they are LLMD and still require the same standards as IDSA docs.
