Hey IHL,
I hope you're doing ok. Are you still having these near-fainting symptoms? I haven't been on the forum much this week, lots of dr's appointments.
Saw a WONDERFUL young well-informed neurologist in NYC the other day. She is an LLMD and she TAKES INSURANCE so I feel like I hit the jackpot, lol! She did a thorough interview & usual neurologist tests (repeatedly touch my finger, then your nose, walk on your tiptoes, etc). She said it is POTS, so you were right, IHL: it is autonomic dysfunction. I go back to her next week once my insurance approves a brain ultrasound, MRI, etc.
Here is a basic link I read for more info. Might interest you that infections/diseases known to cause POTS are Lyme, MCAD, & Anemia, among others.
www.dysautonomiainternational.org/page.php?id=30The cardiologist I saw was also a young
open-minded female who seemed familiar with Lyme, although not an LLMD. She has me wearing a heart monitor for 30 days. Had an EKG and Echocardiogram through her office as well. All looks normal so far. So typical. My body always acts "normal" at dr's appointments. Hmpphhh!
