Since IGG indicates past infection, does a high IGG matter?

What do you mean by a high IGG? You're talking about
a Western Blot?
So you have several + bands on the WB IgG?

No I am referring to the Mycoplasma antibody test. It measures IGM and IGG.

Unless you have had enough treatment to clear the infection, then yes - you definitely need treatment. Mycoplasma is a pretty wicked infection too.

I haven't started treatment yet. My main symptoms are neuropathy which I know is hard to treat. Would you recommend abx or herbal? I see my LLMD next week.

The choice of how to treat would be up to you. I know that herbs work best for me, so I would choose herbs - Buhner has a nice Myco protocol:

Hi Tunaaa
It depends on whether your myco is currently affecting you. I had a positive IGG myco test as well, but my doctor said lots of people have mycoplasma exposure, and my symptoms don't indicate that my main problem is myco. It's about
peeling back the layers. I'm not treating for myco at the moment, but that's not to say I won't have to treat it in the future.

I don't have the main symptoms of P myco, but I read that some people are asymptomatic. My main symptoms are neuropathy that has been progressing for 6 months which was when it started. At the start of this, I had night sweats for 2 weeks which was probably the start of the infection and then it began infecting my peripheral nerves. I know that mycoplasma is hard to eradicate, but i'm gonna remain hopeful. Typically I would ignore the IGG, but the normal range is 0-99. Mine came back at over 2500!

In that case, yes, the high IGG definitely matters, to answer your original question.

No, if you have IgM antibodies, then you have a current or recurring infection that needs addressed.
The higher the titer is not notably remarkable as the healthier the person, the more antibodies can be produced. The general population has been infected and has a high titer.

^^ I read that elevated IGG can also signify an active infection. It even says that on the lab results. It recommends I get tested again in a month to see if my titers increase. I don't know how much more mine can go up. Normal range is 0-99. Positive is above 320. Mine is 2500! Igm only gets produced in the early stages, maybe the first few weeks.

Following my initial appointment with LLMD, my first results from LabCorp came in last night (I get notified through email and then I can log right in and look). My mycoplasma IGG is a 562! (normal says 0-99). Still waiting for remaining results from IGenx and the other lab that is checking other coinfections. Does anyone have any accurate and sure information regarding this? Does mycoplasma also come from a ticks? In a way I am kind of relieved that something came back as a red flag for all of these awful symptoms I've been dealing with for the past year...

Hi JAdam, I don't have anything "accurate and sure" to tell you, but mycoplasma is a co-infection of Lyme. Be sure to talk to your LLMD at your next appt about
it.

I am sure Toby has Mycoplasma as a coinfection. He twice herxed big time a couple of years ago when using Rife frequencies. I also wonder what symptoms people have with Mycoplasma. Since he has ALS symptoms, I am wondering if any of them are ones people experience with Myco. ie. muscle twitching and weight loss are two that come to mind.

I had gotten quite ill w/a SE Asian myco strain in 2007. I'd taken the quick fix 5-day zpak. Then in 2014 when I 1st saw the LLND she said My Igm(current infection) was low but the IgG was high, so I took NAC for one year & my asthma is now gone!!! I had myco induced asthma between 2007-2014!!!

BTW-Dr. GARTH Nicholsen-whom many scientists say is the Nations leading expert research molecular biologist on Mycoplasma....he concluded that Mycoplasma IS THE LEADING cause of ALS aka Gulf War syndrome!!!
