Hi sweetpea.
Generally, herbal antibiotic or antimicrobial remedies cause you to lose fewer good gut bacteria (which keeps the y/f in balance in your gut) than manufactured antibiotics because the the whole herb is used. But also, the tinctures are mostly alcohol by volume and we have had posters here who have developed y/f overgrowth due to all the alcohol.
Some people are just more susceptible to y/f overgrowth than others. You can have genetic mutations that reduce your good bacteria levels or sometimes our diets can put things out of balance. And there are people who have no problem no matter how many abx they takeā¦
Do you have any other sx? Fogginess or disconnected and spaceyness? GI distress (bloating, gas, distended, reactions to food, sugar or carb cravings, itchy) or skin issues?
If so, this indicates y/f overgrowth in the gut. You've probably read my recommendations for Pure Nystatin powder 1,000,000 units/day. Let me know if you have q's.
If not, most LLMDs recommend that most people in tx benefit from taking probiotics.
Hope this helps!
