My vision all of a sudden got blurry several days ago. I'm having to borrow my husband's reading glasses.
So, I thought I should see an Optomitrist and get my eyes checked (I've also had pressure behind my eyes, so was concerned)
Today, I had the appointment. I had the drops in the eyes - I was checked for glaucoma and my vision as well. So, I need reading glasses now - 1.25 prescription...but the good news is my long-distance vision has improved...I don't need to wear glasses when driving anymore (I had suspected this, as I stopped wearing them a while ago as it didn't seem like I needed them anymore).
I told the Dr. about lyme disease, so she wanted to do tests to establish a baseline...so we'd know if something suddenly changed. Everything was good - no inflammation. She wants me to have a Field test done (I think that's what it's called.) It will check the optic nerve - she said it will show if there is any inflammation. I have to make another appointment for that test - in another city.
She said lyme disease is something that is on their 'radar' - when they see eye problems. I was happy she knew about Lyme disease and the possibility of it affecting the optic nerve.
