I was just re-reading some of Buhner's newer coinfection book that addresses Babesia....and I've also re-read some of the sections in his newer book that addresses Lyme.
Firstly, he is back to recommending Artemisinin (the isolated constituent) in the Babesia protocol...and he recommends taking it continuously for 30 days.
However, when addressing the various herbs that can treat Babesia, he mentions that the whole herb can be effective.
Ironically, in the Materia Medica section on Artemisinin in his newer Lyme book, he mentions the enzyme the intestines form when Artemisinin is introduced. On pg. 387, he says "by day seven the constituent is only present at 24 percent of its one day levels. The isolated constituent is not very effective if taken longer than seven days at a time for parasitical infections. If it doesn't work for Babesia (or whatever) within a few weeks to a month, it is not going to. Pulsing will not help."
And, yes, Artemisinin can also treat Lyme. (let's just add to the confusion lol}
That's interesting. What's also interesting is I see articles touting it's anti-cancer effects.
I know that I have been on it for more than a few weeks to a month(in total)...and I am still herxing...not as strong as originally, though.
I wouldn't take it straight for 30 days, though...better safe than sorry...IMO
