Permethrin - how bad is this stuff for you?

As recommended by some on this site, I'm going to apply Permethrin to my clothes a few days before wearing them (including socks).

I know it's a very toxic chemical, and us lymies have a problem with stuff like that. Should I be concerned at all? I won't be applying it to my skin directly, and won't be wearing the clothes I spray it on for 3 days.

While I know many of us would prefer to avoid chemicals, some seem a necessary evil.

Permethrin doesn't seem to be that bad:

The permethrin I use on my clothes is effective through 6 washings and you're supposed to wait until articles are fully dry before putting them on.
