Can Babesia be transmitted by kissing or skin contact? That seems to have happened to us

I have chronic Lyme and Anaplasmosis, and am symptomatic for Babesia and possibly Bart. I went on my first date with my new girlfriend in late April, and within a week she started having Lyme/coinfection symptoms. At that point we had done nothing beyond kissing.

To my shock, she really does have Lyme, apparently caught from me! Her IGenex tests are positive for Anaplasmosis (not common in this part of the country), Babesia, and positive bands on western blot that are similar but not identical to mine.

I've seen lots of people on these boards talk about catching Lyme from someone else, and as near as I can tell Bart may be highly contagious. The one that confuses me is Babesia -- could she really have caught Babesia from me?????

The other explanation also seems really unlikely -- she happened to get bitten by a tick just when we started dating.

Does anyone have thoughts on what could have happened here?? Could Babesia be contagious even though Malaria isn't?

She may have caught it through a bug bite herself.
