Yes, Lyme disease is in Alberta!!!!
Story of a Calgary, Alberta woman who had to fight hard to get proper treatment...after misdiagnosis.
Looks like they used Stony Brook labs to have her tested.

Yikes, how scary. It is ridiculous that patients have to self-diagnose, pay for their own tests, and argue with the medical establishment for proper treatment.
I too will be talking to my politician, when I get confirmation that my initial positive Lyme test was actually negative, "because we don't have Lyme here". l plan to present my bill(s) for independent testing to the politician too.

Unfortunately, this story is all too common.
Thanks for sharing, Girlie!

Girlie~Each article that I have questions/challenges, I write the author. Some I have received word back! I think it helps to have relative involvement, especially as you are in CN.

Thanks for sharing Girlie! What a great story with a positive ending. I'm happy her husband wasn't buying the diagnosis she was getting from the neuro. Us Canadians really have to push our government to do more about
this disease. It's terrible how much we have to go through.
Funny, when I saw a neuro for a 2nd opinion re my headaches, she diagnosed me with chronic daily headaches and wrote me a script
for an anti depressant (Ha!). To this day I still haven't filled it and won't! She also told me she doesn't believe in chronic Lyme disease.
