Hm, yes, I know, the testing's junk, and, yes, diagnosing by gauging my reaction(s) to various products is exactly what I've been attempting to do.
I've tried multiple herbs meant to target the coinfections - Bart and Babs, that is, with the CSA mixture being included, and my reactions were never as severe, with as others have described, which doesn't make any sense at all, considering how long I've been sick, how deeply embedded the infections, and how tough they're said to be to get rid of.
Actually, I didn't react at all, with some stuff.
But, even so, I've got a number of symptoms that many often chime about when speaking on those two. It's strange.
Granted, again, some symptoms do overlap. Really though, it's not my luck to NOT have at least one of them. It's just not. The symptoms tell me otherwise, and my gut tells me otherwise.
That said, I really don't know what to make of it. I mean, I don't want to make it seem like I'm some sort of special case or something, but I really wonder just how rare it is for some people's infection(s) to become, say, highly adaptable, or resistant, to the various treatments, even more so than is the norm, whether traditional pharmaceuticals OR herbals.
Whether it's due to the particular strain, or just differences in the host compared to another (different person = different dynamic the infections have with the body), I don't know.
But, still, I wonder, is it possible, or, rather, is it as rare a thing as it's painted to be? It's said that it's next to impossible for them to gain resistance to herbals, due to them being so, to put it simply, "complex," which I can appreciate.
Why do my experiences with them seem to be at odds with those sorts of statements though?
I've tried so many different herbal protocols, over the past year - both in their entirety as well as bits and pieces from various protocols at once, and, in the beginning, they're almost always effective. I herx (not as much as I'd expect to, being so sick, but, still, I herx), I feel the medicines working, and I see minor improvements.
But, then, after, sometimes, what's as little as a week or two, the herxing tapers off, I begin to plateau, and then start to get worse again, for no apparent reason, other than that the products have simply stopped having an effect on me and my infections.
I change nothing in my approach to treatment, diet, detox, nothing, and, yes, yes, I did eat right, I did detox like hell, and I did give the protocols enough of a chance.
Now, I know, a lot of factors come into play, when trying to heal from this stuff, I know. There are a lot of things that could stand in the way, I know. But, why wouldn't any one of those things stand in the way from the get-go, if they were at the root of the problem (the treatments losing their potency)?
Why would they seem to be working just fine at first, then.. not? Only explanation I've been able to muster is that the infections got used to them.
Again, I really don't want to make myself seem like I'm special.
I look to many of the people who've had success on herbal protocols, they talk of herxing so much, often off just a few drops, and being on them for months, yet gradually seeing progress, I want that too. I want them to work.
Sigh. Dunno..
Sorry for highjacking this thread. I'm a mess.
Toodles..
