This week I noticed two bulleye rashes on my arm. Went to my dr and she said it was an allergic reaction. Something inside me told me she was wrong so when I came home I started researching and found the Lyme community. The next day I went to the hospital and after begging I got 2 100mgs of doxy and a week'so worth of two 100mg a day. I went to sleep so scared and upset that when I woke up I couldn't believe this is all real. My parents are dismissing me as a hypochondriac and so are my drs. I finally contacted the ILADS but based on reviews for the doctor near me, he's been in jail for an oxy scheme so I don't know if he's reliable. I haven't gotten a fever but the two bullseye rashes seem to have confirmed the Lyme for me. I don't know what to, I'm afraid for my future, and I need help. Is there any hope for me? How will my life continue? How can I be strong? Where can I go to speak to a LLMD in Long Island. I'm 21 and in my last year of college, I am so afraid to lose it all because the thing I love most about
myself is my mental strength and how great of a student I am. I don't know what to do next. Im experiencing upset stomach from the doxy, stress from the fact that I may never be cured, and feeling neglected my my family's dismissal.

I'm so sorry for what you're going through, but you're doing the right thing. You're trusting your gut instincts and your body. You caught this early and you can get through this. I'm sure there will be others who chime in and they can help you find an LLMD in Long Island or nearby.
The one thing I learned on here about
doxy is to please make sure you take it with food. My LLMD said to take it on an empty stomach, but I read on here that causes a lot of people to have severe stomach upset. It was recommended to me to eat 1/2 my breakfast, take doxy, then eat other 1/2. I did that today and feel fine. That might be an option for you at breakfast and lunch.
Hang in there!

Hi Sgmar - welcome to our community!
The bulls eye rash is a symptom of Lyme Disease.
You need to find a LLMD as the amount of doxy you were given is inadequate.
You are not a hypochondriac - and with proper treatment you will get better - sounds like a recent infection.
We can help you find a LLMD - start a new thread titled "Looking for LLMD in Long Island"
It is overwhelming at first, but keep reading, asking questions.
This community is a supportive and knowledgeable group of people - we can help you.
Take a deep breath....

Thank you MsHippo its really encouraging to hear those words right now and although I had to truly stand my ground while talking to my primary doctor I've realized that my gut instinct will be the main thing to carry me through this journey.
Girlie - so sorry about
posting my e-mail, I have updated my settings.
