Why is Lyme's Disease ignored by the general public?????

I feel as though I am screaming from a mountaintop for help from my primary doctor, my parents, and an ER doctor i saw after finding the two bullseye rashes on my arms this week. Why does no one believe me and continue to tell me I'm overreacting? I am so frustrated that I cannot get through to them and I want to get treatment as soon as possible. I think the hardest thing I've ever had to do is beg the way I did to that dr in the ER i saw about getting a 7-day 100mg twice a day prescription of doxycycline and still have no idea where to go from here. I know that I may be acting impatiently but I'm afraid that my life has just changed forever.

jrpsf - I posted a thread about LLMD's in Long Island but I guess they are rare and will have to go to the city. But, thank you for your reply and suggestions. I appreciate them!

If anyone has any other information on an LLMD, it will tremendously help.

The reason this is so difficult is because we are smack dab in the middle of a HUGE political fight.

If you haven't done so already, I suggest that you take some pics of these bulls eye rashes and have something like a coin or soda can near them to help with size perception.

It will help a LLMD with diagnosis....and, yes, they should have helped the other doctors but Traveler already explained the sad state of affairs with Lyme :(
