A lot of us had, have, to go through that, regarding friends, family, and, of course, doctors. But, friends and family are the worst though.
Sucks having people who claim to care about you have such trouble just.. taking you at your word.
No guarantees it'll work, but ask them if they honestly, from the heart, care about, love you, and, if so, why they can't just trust you?
You have no proof, beyond the symptoms. The doctors contradict you. But, regardless, you know your own body - you know something's wrong, and you need their support on it. Again, their trust.
Sure, go through all of the things the other members listed as well, try your best to educate them, but, really, just draw the point that, if they can't trust you, what kind of "family" are they really? Do they love you, really?
Real family wouldn't do that to somebody, in my opinion. I certainly wouldn't, no matter how many outlets of information, doctors, what have you, told me otherwise.
Had my sister basically take shots at me for "finally getting a job at 23" (because I had to - to pay for more, "better" treatment, and without much success, I might add) and say that she needed to see documentation from a doctor to believe that I'm sick. Like, ouch. Worse yet, she doesn't even realize how much of an injustice she did me.
Though, none of them do, when they keep company with those sorts of thoughts on the matter. They don't know of the damage, on top of everything we already got to deal with. It's really sad, really hurtful. But, I'm sure you feel the same, as you're going through it.
I hate to say it, but, unless you get lucky right off the bat, and win them over completely, you're probably gonna be dealing with a lot of it.
Sorry.
Good luck, man.
