Yes, I was very lucky to have met such a wonderful, caring, curious man. I was just beyond his scope of understanding back then. Essentially, no one knew or understood how much detoxing was necessary, or how to help someone titrate their meds up - so I was termed as an abx failure, but no one understood why.
Dr. Masters honestly begged me to stay with him, but I simply was too sick to make the trip. It was a 19 hour drive round trip for me. I was having seizures, blacking out/passing out, and couldn't find my way around my own town of 2,000 people so there was no way I was capable of making the trip to see him - but that lead me to my own healing, so it's okay. I obviously still think highly of him and don't believe they have celebrated him enough. He made great strides in getting people treated when the CDC was working hard to shut down LLMD's back then as well.
Personally, I like Dr. Horowitz's MSIDS term best. Multiple Systemic Infectious Disease Syndrome because there are often viruses mixed in there as well - but trying to get people to use that term when we can't even make enough progress to get them to say Masters instead of STARI may be too much to ask unfortunately.
We may be stuck with the term "Lyme" meaning all the possible tick-borne infections.
