Been having some chest pain (fluttering/buzzing sensation right around where my heart is) along with slight shortness of breath. Internist has ordered a holster monitor for 48 hours.

Anyone else go through this?

I wore a holter monitor for 24 hours. Make sure you get a hypoallergenic one. It made me itch like crazy.

It is a good idea if you're having chest pain.

I did this about 5 months ago, it was one of the many test ordered over the last few years leading up to my diagnoses of Lyme Disease. Mine was ordered for lightheaded, off balance and dizziness. Mine came back normal. It is no big deal wearing the holter monitor.. you'll be fine :)

I've worn it before. All the wires are a nuisance but I just tucked them into a pocket. Also I think they say not to take a shower? You don't want the monitor to get wet. And make sure you record when you experience your symptoms, on paper and by pressing the button on the machine. Good luck.

Oh and taking off the stickers will hurt. I did it while lying down because the first time I removed them I almost fainted (I've worn it on two occasions).

I had a 24-hr holter monitor many moons ago when my usual EKG at the GP's office showed extra beats.

The worst part about it for me was not being able to shower lol

I did this too. It's the adhesive that made me itch.

It showed I was having PVCs. It ended up being candida related. Once I got that into control, the pre ventricular contractions subsided. The cardiologist said my body was stressed from all it was working on.
