I completely understand how you feel.
I approach any new treatment with extreme caution.....I start slow and low. There's never a convenient time for a herx.
What might not be a bad idea would be for you to get a solid detox protocol going.
The fact that you are dealing with symptoms tells us that your body has toxins in it. The toxins are what drive our symptoms.
Detoxing will help clear those toxins and continuing with detoxing will help immensely with treatment.
We have some great detoxing suggestions in the "New to Lyme" thread that sits at the top of the forum and it includes a link to my fav site for detox suggestions:
www.tiredoflyme.com/detox-methods.htmlYou'll definitely want to take things slow even with starting your detox protocol. Otherwise, you're at risk of mobilizing more toxins than your body is able to handle.
It's best to do multiple things that address the body's various detoxification systems.
For example, you'll want to consistently drink a LOT of water to flush toxins out.
Dry skin brushing before your bath/shower will clear toxins out of your pores and mobilize lymph fluid. A cold rinse at the end of your bath/shower will do the same.
Epsom salt baths are best approached with caution because they have the capabilities of moving large amounts of toxins. Some people start with short foot baths.
Sweating is another great way to clear toxins whether it's from exercise or a sauna.
Taking liver support supplements such as milk thistle can only help.
The site I linked explains how each method works so I think you'll be able to create a protocol that works well....and just know you should add to it once you decide to start treatment.
Hopefully, your doctor told you to start one med at a time.....and at a lower dose for at least one week. You could then add the other med (lower dose) for the next week as long as you're doing well.
You really need to start treatment because your infections will spread otherwise. Just take it slow.
