So I've been on Zithromax/Mepron for 3 months and now on Omnicef/Tindamax for 3+ months and I've had this chronic sore throat where the voice is hoarse and scratchy all the time. At one point the sore throat was caused by Lyme and/or Babesia but at this stage I doubt it here's why. I had to go on another round of Coartem which means stopping all other medications until you finished + 2 days so I was off the antibiotics for a week. Well guess what, the throat got better! Sure it wasn't perfect but better than its been in a long time.
I saw an LLMD ENT last month who looked in my throat and saw some white stuff and said I think you have a yeast infection down there so I've been on Diflucan for almost a month and it hasn't done anything. Systemic Candida can be tricky so not a failure but I find it interesting the problem is only in my throat and not anywhere else (no gut issues at all).
I understand correlation doesn't equal causation but it seems the abx are causing the throat to at minimum be worse.
Any other experiences along these lines? I'm ready to tell the doctor either switch me to something else that may minimize the throat issues or take a break for a month and maybe jack up the herbs. Thoughts?

I think we talked about
this in another thread, but is it possible that the Diflucan isn't getting to your throat? Have you tried the Nystatin powder or something else you can gargle to get to it?
