Quick simple question about lyme herbal remedy

I have a couple weeks until my next visit to LLMD. I have been taking an herbal tincture she recommended called Lyme Support. It has japanese knotweed in it which seems to be one of the most recommended herbs for lyme.

But I'm going to run out before I go back to the doctor. I have started reading about various protocols and it's a bit overwhelming. I'm not going to become an expert in this by the time I run out. I actually should order something today to ensure there isn't a gap with nothing.

I could just order more of the stuff I have, but I was thinking maybe i should get this:

it has a combo of the suggested herbs by Buhner for treating lyme.

Lastly, has anyone here actually felt better, gotten better, or gotten a negative lyme test after using these herbs?

gary - Green Dragon is a good source of herbs for lyme disease treatment - actually one of buhner's recommended sources.

If you do choose GD - I suggest you buy the herbs individually...and you can start them one at a time that way...so not to confuse when you have a reaction to one.

So, same site - you can buy the JK, CC, and Eleutheros - which are all in the Buhner protocol.

And to answer your question - yes, many people have had success with the herbs.

Your other question - negative test...that doesn't happen. There is no test to determine when you are done with treatment and have put lyme into remission.
Only resolution of symptoms.

I've never bought them from Green Dragon but Buhner recommends it so it should be good. One thing I do is buy the herbs in bulk from mountain rose herbs. It is far cheaper in the long run if you plan on staying on the herbs for a while.

I can also speak to the efficacy of the herbs. I was having a hard time tolerating antibiotics so I switched to buhner's full lyme, bartonella, and babesia protocol and am doing great.

Does the Japanese Knotweed content of the LB Tonic match the amount in the Lyme Support tincture you've been taking?

And, since the LB Tonic also contains Cat's Claw (which is very effective against Lyme), you should start off very slowly to minimize any herxing.

I'm transitioning to Buhner's Lyme protocol while also titrating his Babesia protocol. I decided to get on low doses of everything so there will be many means of attack.

That said, I'm only up to 20 drops of Japanese Knotweed and 2 caps of Cat's Claw.....along with 3-5 drops each of the Babesia herbs. I'm also taking a bunch of supportive herbs.

I started this protocol in mid-July and am thrilled to report that I'm experiencing improvements that were evading me the entire time I was on Cowden.

I do believe an asymptomatic babesia infection was impeding my healing from Lyme. So, that's not to say Cowden isn't effective....it's more that the couple of Babesia herbs in the protocol weren't enough.

I'm not sure why anyone would expect to get a negative Lyme test after any type of treatment. My LLMD told me that, once we have Lyme, the antibody tests will no longer be accurate. Even when healed, we'll still have measurable antibodies.

I have healed a set of 40 yr old tick-borne infections with just herbs only protocols, so yes, they really work and work well for most people.

I would echo the concerns about starting too many herbs at the same time (so get them separately until you have gotten to full doses of each so you can work your way up slowly as Girlie suggested).

And ditto on the testing. I was reinfected last summer (2014) and chose to pass on any testing and just go straight for my herbal treatments. I took them 5 months for a 3 month old infection (by the time I started my herbs - denial and finances weren't cooperating!) - and have had no symptoms return since that time.

Hi Gary, just to chime in here, no need to "re-test" to prove infection is gone. That's not what the tests are meant for-- the science isn't that good.

"The tests can be problematic. The ELISA and Western blot can only detect whether a person has been exposed to Bb. The tests cannot determine if there is an active infection which could be causing the persisting symptoms, since antibodies can be produced for months or years after an infection has cleared. "

Our daughter has healed from diagnoses of Asperger's, Tourette's, ADHD and PANS/PANDAS using a combination of Buhner's herbal bartonella and babesia protocols. She initially tested IND for lyme and positive for bartonella. An underlying case of negative-testing babesia-like-organism (or some other protozoan) was stalling her healing until we added babesia herbs.

She is now asymptomatic and has been so for about 1 year.
