Pulsing biaxin while on Rifampin and mino - thoughts?

I'm treating bartonella - been on mino for almost 3 months, and rifampin almost 2 months.

I had previously treated lyme with various antibiotics for 9 1/2 months (including a cyst buster - Tinidazole pulsed two days a week for a few months)

I have lots of biaxin in my arsenal....so if I were to pulse it - while taking mino and rif daily...would two days a week be enough?
I don't want to take it daily as my liver enzymes were raised when I was on it before...and so far on rif and mino they've been good.

My question is - pulsing for 2 days a week - is that enough to do anything?

I have pulsed tinidazole three days a week for almost a year now. my other meds my llmd changes every couple moonths. my last round was mino and rifampin! I just started hydroxychloroquine and clarithromycin along with tinidazole and i am feeling better lately than I have in 18 months!

I did a search - and I asked this question in April...geez...don't remember that!! I wasn't on Rif and mino at the time, though, so the question is a bit different..lol

I did get a few responses - some people have pulsed it. One person did it M,W,F. Another person did it 5 days on and Weekends off.

So, I read this from Dr. M.R. online Treatlyme book:

" 2. Pulse Dosing.

Some prescription antibiotics can be given using pulse dosing. The idea is to start and stop the antibiotics. This allows the body to recover from the toxicity of some of the drugs while providing effective killing of the germ using high doses. Lyme is a slow growing germ. The spirochete form only requires 2-3 days for some antibiotics to work and days to recover and to start growing again. All of the antibiotics mentioned in this article can be pulse dosed except for azithromycin. One way to pulse is to use 4 day on and 3 day off regimens. Many physicians have different ways of pulsing antibiotics."


So, reading this - biaxin should be okay - as it's in his list of antibiotics. I think I would do 3 days on.

Or, is the knee pain from bart...and it was getting better from the biaxin I was on...and now I'm herxing and that's why it's worse?

It's a puzzle, for sure...trying to figure out what to do.

I may be adding in the JK next week, following with crypto after that and sida...maybe throw in some hout, too.

Justinj - So, do you take them three days in a row each week...and the same days each week?
How long were you on the mino and rif? And, it's since that combo that you started to feel good?
