insane muscle pain, sweats, head pressure??

hello everyone - so thankful for all the helpful advice everyone submits.
I have been really struggling. very strong lyme diagnosis from igenex in dec 14 after being sick for 6+ years.
but my symptoms are all pain. severe pain, muscle contractions that wont let go - almost seizure like - i foam at the mouth! my llmd says this is not lyme symptoms - crazy pain in the teeth, night sweats, head pressure and these horrible rolling all over muscle contractions that hurt so badly.
is this Babs? neg igenex for babs and bart. but i know they could still be there.
very hopeful that someone will recognize these symptoms!?
modified Cowden; doxy; grapefruit extract; probiotics; infra red sauna; epsom salt baths

I've had all of those symptoms including the pain in the teeth which I haven't heard mentioned here before.

When I had my testing done at Igenex I also chose to test for Babesia and Bartonella. I figured that I had all the symptoms and if the Lyme came up equivocal a positive on Babesia and/or Bartonella that would strengthen the case for Lyme.

But Igenex is not a lab that is recommended for testing for Babesia or Bartonella. So I wasted lots of money having those tests done with a negative result. I was recently diagnosed clinically with both. The babesia is definite because I have been on Plaquinel since November and some of those symptoms have completely disappeared most notably drenching sweats.

Sorry you're dealing with all of these symptoms! It sure sounds like Babs and I'm surprised your LLMD didn't clinically diagnose you with it - the coinfections testing is less reliable than Lyme testing.

Is there any way of convincing your LLMD to at least trial some Babesia meds? If you herx on them, you'll know.

Another option would be to incorporate some of Buhner's herbs for Babesia - or at least Cowden's Enula.

I have had those symptoms, but for me most of them weren't from Babs, but Lyme and Bart. When Lyme and Bart combine in a body, they often create even more intense Neuro symptoms - and that's what your symptom might be - neurological.

Babs did give me horribly drenching sweats, though.

You will need to increase the amount that you are doing to help your body detox though. That's the only way to ease your symptoms. If you only increase what you are using for treatments, you will continue to herx horribly.

This sounds very much like my experience of babesia. Did you tell your LLMD about these symptoms?

Kim - I cannot tell you how much it means to me to hear that someone else has experienced this. I am so sorry! It is a living nightmare for me when it hits - which is every night. My boyfriend spends hours helping me with an electric massager which reduces the severe muscle convulsions some/enough for me to sleep around 2 or 3pm...
What lab clinically diagnosed you with Babs? Can you tell me more about your muscle contractions and teeth pain?

CD - I am pulsing Art and Doxy+ Cowden. Had significant symptom increases when i started Art and can only tolerate 1 capsule (125mg) and my LLMD wants me to go up to 500mg. I will start Malarone next week.
If I really herx, can I be sure to have Babs or would any lymie feel terrible on Malarone?

Hi Sarah - thanks so much for sharing. Do you mind telling me about your symptoms, how they were similar and what you did/if anything helped?

I'm currently treating for babesia. I experience muscle pain and sweats, as well as many types of headaches. I have also used a rife machine for babesia, and as a herx from that I have experienced jaw pain and muscle pain.

Art is used to treat Babesia. Therefore, the fact that your symptoms got worse after taking it pretty much confirms Babesia/Babesia-like infection - sorry.

I'm as sure as I can be about Lyme and Bart causing my severe pain, muscle contractions that wont let go and can appear in any part of the body or cover a lot of area, crazy pain in the teeth, and head pressure.

On the other hand, I was told that I had ever one of the tick-borne infections, and then ended up healing while seeing a doctor that couldn't run blood tests or anything else, so we had to "wing it" a lot of the time and weren't able to confirm anything with regular testing that many have.

I missed the comment about your symptom increases when taking artemisin the first time, and I have to agree with cd. That is pretty definitive for babesia. I had the same reaction. Tell your doctor you can't go up that quickly.

swede, I was diagnosed clinically based on my symptoms by an LLMD. The diagnosis is Lyme, Babesia and Bartonella. Some symptoms overlap.

When I found out Lyme could be causing my symptoms, I had the Igenexx test run. I figured that I might as well test for the co-infections that seemed most likely based on my symptoms. My thought was if the Lyme result was equivocal, then a positive result for one of the co-infections would strengthen my case when going to a doctor for treatment.

I said I wasted my money on the co-infection tests because Igenex isn't the best lab for the cos and I later learned that the Olive Leaf I took to provoke the Lyme can also suppress the the cos.
