Sorry for the depressing question, but i was wondering how much time it takes to succumb to Neuro-lyme. Had it for about 5 years, and is has destroyed my memory, speech, chronic fatigue, brain fog, and just about every neuro symptom...Obviously i want to get better, but was wondering if ABX failed how much time i had left, thanks.

Colin - if you're asking about dying - you know it's not common that people die from lyme...I mean they do...but if I were you I wouldn't go there....just keep treating. If the antibiotics didn't work - then try one of the herbal protocols.

Have you looked into the co-infections? and your ability to detox?

What have you tried so far? NEVER give up. Someone wise on here once said - if you give up...how would you ever know - if it was tomorrow - or next week...or next month...that you'd start to feel better and turn the corner?

Yeah I'm going to look into detoxing and no I'm not giving up I was just curious how much time I had to seek another route...

There are other modalities for treating Lyme disease, so don't lose hope if ABX don't help you. Others have gotten past it, so don't lose hope and if you feel ABX aren't enough, then ask your doctor for something else or find another doctor if he can't offer anything else for you to try. I know of several people who have switched doctors when things didn't improve.

Hopefully others here will share what they did to get past the neurological issues. I do hope you can get past this stage. I'm sorry you've had to suffer with it so much.

Colin - have you been on minocycline? I just started it a few months ago - after 9 1/2 months on other antibiotics. And, it's been the best so far for my head stuff.
It penetrates the blood/brain barrier...so gets into the CNS.


Japanese Knotweed is good for CNS, too.

Hang in there Colin. I have never been on ABX. I am healing with herbals alone. After treating for 2 years, I have recently seen a big improvement in my neuro symptoms.

Have you read through the "Master symptom list" for Lyme in our "New to Lyme?" thread? I had every single one of those symptoms and most were pretty severe when I started treatments.

I used abx for one year, was considered an abx failure, went home, got my body detoxing and then healed in 1 year treating Lyme with herbals only, 9 months for Bartonella (herbs only) and then another year treating Babesia with herbs only as well.

Get started detoxing, as that will allow you to get more aggressive with your treatments and you will have the opportunity to heal.
