Autoimmune issues will never cause a Lyme specific band to be positive, that completely defeats the "Lyme specific" band, as the
only thing that will make a Lyme specific band turn positive in 1 specific strain of Lyme disease - Borrelia burgdorferi.
There are over 100 strains of Lyme in the US alone and they have these tests designed for only one strain, and the Lyme speicific bands will only react when exposed to specific proteins that are found only on Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria.
