Excellent article about the wonderful Houttuynia--including Mast Cells--where is IHL?

Thank you Smilela1, read the article as well as I could, some of it is over my head. Do you know if there are drug interactions known? I'm just starting my anbx for Lyme's and Babesia and IV chelation for heavy metals.

Glad I could help :) Yes, fresh is better, for all interested buying and organic H. plant, Horizonherbs have it. I need to buy it but I've been busy and keep forgetting. You won't find it listed as Houttuynia. They list it as Chameleon, which is another name for this plant. If you decide to grow it yourself, make sure it won't take over your garden because it grows like crazy and it will upset your neighbours. Very hard to irradicate. Some people complain it grows even under their driveway on the opposite site of where the plant was planted. It does poorly from seed, so if you grow it in a large container, it won't upset your neighbours. It is considered a "noxious plant" by those that love grass and hate plants. So instead of using it for health benefits, they bought it to pretty up their garden and when it takes over they try (very hard) to destroy it with chemicals.

Now don't go to horizon herbs and buy all of it--leave one for me, too LOL

I'm not Simela, but since I used Houttuynia for 9 months to clear my Bartonella infection, I can tell you that you can use this herb while using other herbs and pharma drugs to treat these infections. I would however check to make sure that the IV chelation won't interfere with any of the things you are using for your treatments.

Hello All-

I know this is an older post, but wanted to let everyone know that Woodland Essence now has but dried and fresh leaf Houttuynia (or Hootie as I call it ;) )

The fresh leaf is in limited supply though because they will not be getting another batch until July - I called them to verify. They are actually waiting on the plant to finish growing! I have only used the dried leaf, and no longer have much of a reaction to 2 whole dropper fulls, so I am curious to see if the fresh leaf will be different.

If I ever get the motivation I think I may try to grow this plant myself as suggested in earlier posts, sure would be cheaper!

So I take it the consensus is to use the fresh herb? Is there any reason for this? I'm ordering more herbal tinctures from woodland essence today. I see they have both the dry herb tincture and fresh herb tincture.
