I have had post nasal drip, stuffed up sinuses for as long as i can remember.  I have a deviated septum.  My LLMD says that my post nasal drip isn't due to a structural issue ie the deviated septum but to the chronic inflammation/chronic infection.  Do you think that's true?

hey dave. i developed chronic post nasal drip right after i got infected and i have a deviated septum as well. unless the deviated septum is so bad that you keep getting bacteria growth and needing antibiotics to clear, it's the bugs. for me its either the lyme or the babesia for sure as when i feel better it lessens along with the other symptoms. have you noticed any lessening when other symptoms lighten? you can do nasal washes to help keep things clear temporarily.

I have had a chronic runny nose for the past five years of treatment. It fluctuates from bad to worse. I need to clear my nose often throughout the day and the discharge is always clear and clean. No dripping at night is detected.

Yes, I attribute it to the disease.

I have always had sinus issues. I read somewhere that lyme loves weak spots in our bodies. I suspect that those buggers are in my sinuses. Haven't figured much out except that benadryl helped with it was really.

I have a suspicion it is due to mold/lyme...I have had post nasal drip since I was a kid...do you think it's possible I've had lyme since I was a kid? What do I use to clear my sinuses? What irrigation method do you like the best? Netty pot?

I suspect candida plays a role here. I've always had a runny nose in cool air (doesnt need to be freezing yet). Last winter it was worse when I had tounge thrush (candida)

Yet some people dont have a runner nose even when its below freezing.

I actually blame my time with chronic post nasal drip on Babesia - why? Because near the end of my treatment for Babesia, it stopped. I don't have any structural issues.

as i said structural obstruction is highly unlikely unless you are constantly getting bacteria stuck in there that festers and causes your body to react. usually a deviated septum causes more difficulty breathing through your nose and/or a dry mouth and or a dry throat due to lack of moisture/oxygen.
