Shoulder blade pain in one spot for a month- HELP!

Last month, I had some intense shoulder blade pain if I moved a certain way. I'm almost certain I was getting because my varicose veins were KILLING me and I had awful shortness of breath and chest pain upon breathing for a good couple weeks.

I went to ER twice, to be sure, but I now know that I was herxing.
The leg symptoms and chest pain went away, but the shoulder pain remained for all but one week-LAST WEEK- during my menstrual cycle.

Now, it has returned! It comes and goes with intensity, but there's an ever present dull ache and tingling feeling when I eat (it could be my posture, because one morning I was sitting at the table and hadn't eaten yet and felt tingly in that shoulder blade.

Sometimes, I feel the pain in the left blade more intensely if I bend my neck down. Sometimes it radiates to my front of chest on that side (think, where the heart is!) and down my elbow to my pinky and ring fingers-they go numb at times.

I have an appointment with my primary doc tomorrow to request some blood work from LLMD. LLMD thinks it's muscular or die off in that shoulder blade (why I think this is the herx from HELL), but of course, I slipped up and googled, which I TRY not to do. Now I'm paranoid about lung cancer because I've been around my smoking grandma a ton recently!

I never go outside when she smokes and my parents were always careful to have her smoke away from me, but I know that cancer can show up anywhere. :(

Please ease my fears as I stress myself out over new symptoms! Has anyone else felt symptoms in one area for a month? With my legs, I did. Bladder, I did. I had a lot of symptoms of clots, diabetes, so many other conditions. But when a new symptom persists, I STILL think that Lyme has caused the worst. 😭

If it helps I will tell you I had head pain like a golf ball behind my ear for 3 months. It was one of my first symptoms and the one that took me to the doctor. All doctors call it a head ache, but I insist it is head pain. It just recently went away. I give the credit to Buhner's protocol. But, I think it is a combo of things. Antibiotics, Beyond Balance, and Buhner. All in that order. Plus coming here and reading about detox over and over freaked me out so I totally do a lot of that.

Cdavis - My first symptoms were just to the right of my left shoulder blade - excruciating pain. It took several months to subside.
I looked up the sites you mentioned, too...and had an xray of my lungs as a result of my 'fear'.
Now and then i revisit that fear...but it's been over 2 1/2 years for me now - and that excruciating pain is gone...but i do have nerve pain in it's place...lovely!
I'm hoping that lung cancer would have shown some more obvious symptoms 2 1/2 years later...
I just can't go there anymore....I think the pain would have continued to get worse...although I have nerve pain, it's not the excruciating - send me to the ER pain that I had originally.

Thank you al for the info! I did ride my dirt bike last month and I believe my shoulder blade got irritated and sore from me making so many left turns. I know this because the next day, I woke up with the right leg and left shoulder pain.

Maybe I've always had a pinched nerve (like you've said in the past, Girlie), and the injury plus Lyme hurts it more. The freaky chest and rib pain on that side scares me, but I've gotten that even before Lyme. It was mostly anxiety, and I get fleeting chest pain when my anxiety and symptoms flare.

I'm so glad that this probably isn't cancer. Will still bring it up, but most symptoms point to other causes- most likely Lyme!

To put your mind at ease isolate your arm and shoulder. Either buy an inexpensive shoulder brace at your local drug store or rig one up from a sheet if your handy. Wear that for a day or two. You may have pulled a muscle. Lyme makes our muscles much more stiff.

Are you taking magnesium? If not, adding that may help.

Do you have a tennis ball? If you do, you can place it behind you while sitting on a sofa and move your back so the tennis ball is against your shoulder blade. Move your back around slowly while pressing back. If you have a knot in your muscle you can work it out.

I would have sharp stabbing pain just over the right shoulder blade in the top left where the muscles attach. It was so strong that it would take my breath away.

Eventually, i started on a muscle relaxant and over time it stopped. It also helped the twitching around my eyes.

Seems like your pain would be a result of Lyme and Co.
