Was it you that had/has issues with DVT? If so, I may have come across some information that will be helpful to you tying DVT in with a type of Ehrlichia/Anaplasmosis.

But I also found I have one of the factor genes that cause this. So could be multiple causes.

Will do - and I"m very glad you are that stubborn!!!

I have special interests in DVT since it almost killed my own husband. Now I'm wondering how to test for these strains.

Well it showed up in my 23andme.......but after I asked for the "conventional" blood coagulation gene testing and was denied from PCP.

So after my DVT happened I went to a differtent Dr, with my DVT (adventure) proof and 23andMe info.

She tested four or so of these known by conventional MD's - covered by insurance. I had one and went back to my PCP shaking the results in his face. Its like some PCP's want you dead, so many are so lazy.

I couldn't agree more. It's really sad. My husband had some blood work done 3 months ago, he saw that his kidney numbers weren't so good, and he's had 3 appts since that time and has asked about them. The doctor never conveyed the importance, told him he could see a specialist if he wished.

Come to find out, they diagnosed him with chronic kidney disease, and never told him!!! Unfortunately, stuff like this is happening more and more so that it's just not that unusual.

And by the way, my hubby won't be going to Dr. appt's by himself any longer. He won't push them for answers like I will.

I went off the blood thinners (pills and self administered shots....fun!) and take one aspirin a day forever.

This summer I wiped out mnt biking , got some longer leg swelling than usual, and took 2 aspirin for a few weeks. So I have to be on the lookout from now on.

I know someone who had a pulmonary embolism @ 45 from DVT, he's not the same anymore.

I obviously have serious concerns about my hubby's issues being from a tick-borne infection, especially in light of these 'new' findings - but he doesn't want to hear about it unless I can present hard facts (got them now) and if there is a reliable test and treatments. He's been through a lot as well.

Each of his legs were packed with blood clots - from hip to ankle, plus each of his lungs was 70% full of blood clots before he 'went down' and fortunately, someone finally started listening. He's had a permanent stainless steel filter installed in his inferior vena cava, plus he's on warfarin for the rest of his life.

He's been diagnosed with Factor 5 - but there's no test for it and they have no idea what starts this in some people - there's also no treatments. These articles could provide at least one reason.

I'll post them now that we've talked so much about it! LOL! Just remember, folks, just because it's possible, doesn't mean that it will happen. I've already sent an email on to you though, Astroman.

Hes lucky to be above ground.

I have the lesser evil Factor II, Factor V was negative.

I forgot the other ones they tested, but they were less fatal.

Im just happy its not Factor V., that sounds scary as you know.

Per Dr, I just take a daily aspirin for Factor II, a cheap blood thinner, so far I'm good.

Guess I should look for an affordable Serastreptase (the natural ant-coagulant ?).

I now pay attention to any bruises (from skiing or Mnt bike tip-overs) as to make sure they dont get hard like a clot.

The leg clot I had last Jan happened with no injury, just out of the blue. That was also the end of my ABX and I had Candida at the time AND a real hard time detoxing. So....my temporary toxic body and liver might have added to my natural tendency of clotting.

Bottom line: 23andme provided a wake up call, it showed me previously unknown genetics towards clotting.

It's the ones 'out of the blue' that you have to worry about from our experience. Watch your reaction closely to be sure that the Serrapeptase is doing enough for you. My hubby has to test his blood weekly to be sure that he's on the right dose and this will be a lifelong thing for him as he is on warfarin for life due to this condition.

Bruising can be used as a guide of sorts to know if you have your blood too thin though. Massive bruises over very small 'bumps' would possibly indicate your blood being a bit too thin - but remember a bit too thin is better than too thick.

I actually believe that genetic testing should be covered under health insurance due to the possible wake up calls it could provide to many - just as in your experience.
