It is my belief that a borrelia infection or Lyme Disease causes a metabolic syndrome. Even though this article is about drug induced metabolic syndrome, it still may benefit some on the forum.

What I got from this is the thing I have always been concerned with - don't just treat the symptom, treat the source. That first guy only had to eat right and exercise. But you know he ended up on all kinds of pharmaceuticals, which had side effects and he had to take more pharmaceuticals.
