Just started treatment for lyme and bart

I just started treatment for lyme and bart. Doctor has me starting off slow with antbiotics. My question is since starting the first one 3 days ago i now have horrible pain on left side of my neck. I can barely turn my head to that side. I didnt have pain on that side before starting the abx. Could this be a new symptom of the lyme coming out or ive read about herxing. Would it take this short of a time for a herx to happen?

Did your doctor apprise you of the importance of detoxing your body and brain, especially while taking anti-biotics?

Did he also discuss the strong possibility of your having Babesia, with the symptoms developing down the road during treatment?

We did discuss about the detoxing. Babesia was mentioned but felt most of my symptoms were bart related. What would i look for if i had babesia also?

Regarding herxes - I have had herxes on Day 4 of starting a new medication several times.

What are you doing for detoxing? You need to detox regularly - daily...and several different methods.

Neck pain and stiffness is almost always Lyme, not Babesia. I wouldn't worry about Babesia just yet.

While it's really usual for someone to experience a herx after just 3 days, it could happen. It's more likely though that it's just a changing of the symptoms. That happens a lot with Lyme.

Herxing that early after starting treatment is usually due to timing (when the bacteria is in the blood replicating) or due to having a very high bacterial load and toxin load already. I would encourage you to get started on your detoxing and make sure you are doing plenty of it.

Thanks for the replies, i was kinda figuring it was prob just another lyme symptom as i had it about a week ago on the other side of my neck. My dr said the bart is my biggest problem right now over the lyme. I'll keep up with the detoxing. I'm so glad i finally am getting treated for this. Staying positive that i will feel better

You will feel better. You could feel worse first, as you go through a herx, but remember we are here for support and suggestions to help you get through.
