Is the ANA you mention the one listed in K's signature line?
If so, the ANA (antinuclear antibody) test gives an indication of autoimmune response linked with collagen degradation. Speckled type is one response indicative of lupus or sjogren's.
In K's case, I believe she was positive because of the damage done to her collagen tissues by lyme. She tested with negative ANA titers after bartonella/lyme treatment.
ANA doesn't refer to anaplasma.
