I'm going to be treating Babesia soon, afterwards I will see what my remaining symptoms are and possibly treat Bart, what did you treat your Bart with? Antibiotics? Herbals (names please
)

I'm treating Bart now.
I was using Bart herbs a while back while using abx to treat Lyme. Only for a few months though...and stopped taking them with the abx when my liver enzymes went up (per LLND's instructions)
So, now I am taking Rifampin (since end of August).
I took minocycline with it (requested because of blood/brain barrier penetration)...until a month or so ago...when i switched to biaxin.
Have also added in Buhner bart herbs:
It seems for abx, Rifampin is an often used Antibiotic. Paired with Biaxin, doxy, mino, or Zithromax.
My Dr. doesn't prescribe the Fluoroquinolones (sp?) - maybe as a last resort - due to the Black box warning (tendon rupture)

OK! Thanks... Zithromax alone won't eradicate Bart?

not alone, no.
here are some more options from the website: TreatLyme.net (Dr. M.R) - LLMD
- Clarithromycin and Bactrim DS. I combine clarithromycin 500mg 1 pill 2 times a day with bactrim ds 1 pill 2 times a day with good benefit.
Tier Two
A Macrolide Plus a Tetracycline. Use one of the following macrolides:
clarithromycin 500mg 1 pill two times a day or
azithromycin 500mg 1 pill 2 times a day.
Combine these with a tetracycline:
doxycycline 100mg 1 or 2 pills 2 times a day,
minocycline 100mg 1 pill 2 times a day, or
tetracycline 500mg 1 pill 3 times a day.

I don't think the Tier 2 works for a lot of us...as we are often on a tetracycline combined with a macrolide for lyme..and still need to treat Bart after.
I am on Buhner's 'older' bart protocol:
Japanese Knotweed, Sida Acuta, Houttuynia, Hawthorn.
I have his new Bartonella book...and he has added to it. There are also a lot of recommendations for support herbs - depending on what your individual issues are.
I just placed an herb order and have added a few more herbs.

I used the herbs in the chronic tonic (
www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=30&m=3244272
) and the herb Houttuynia (
www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=30&m=2887463
) to beat my Bartonella infection. I treated Bartonella for 9 months.

I believe I have Bartonella or a Bartonella-like infection based upon the fact that my main symptoms are nerve-related....and some of the herx symptoms I've had.
I've been following Buhner's new Bartonella protocol for the most part (minus Isatis only because I've improved so much without it). As he suggests, I've tailored the protocol somewhat to what suits me intuitively.
To treat Bartonella, I'm taking:
1/2 tsp TID Japanese Knotweed
1/2 tsp TID Sida Acuta
1/4 tsp TID Alchornea
1/2 tsp TID Houttuynia (fresh leaf)
1/4-1 tsp TID Red Root
1/4 tsp TID Hawthorne
1/2 tsp TID Ashwaghanda
2 caps BID TeGreen
2 caps BID CordyMax
2 caps BID Rhodiola rosea
1200mg daily quercetin
1000mg BID L-arginine
150mg BID milk thistle
2 oz TID organic pomegranate juice
I'm also taking a bunch of supportive herbs....and am following Buhner's latest Babesia and Lyme protocols.
I truly believe the combination of herbs I'm taking is what is responsible for my current level of healing.
