LLMD in PA?? And Lab results am I positive?? Candida?

Hi,

My name is Alicia. I am going to hit you all up at once with all my questions in one post. lol

1. Looking for a LLMD in PA - I live in south Central PA

2. How can I know for sure if I have Lyme or just a really bad case of Candida. I already know I have candida issues but how do I now for sure if I also have Lyme?

3. I had testing done through Igenex: Am I lyme positive or not: Here are my results:

Lyme IgM Western Blot

Igenex IgM Result Positive
CDC/NYS Result Negative

18 kDa -
**23-25 kDa -
28 kDa -
30 kDa -
**31 kDa IND
**34 kDa +
**39 kDa -
**41 kDa +
45 kDa -

A few other test (done normal hospital lab) results that are off:

NK Cell Function Assay Result - 4 Low (8-170 normal range)
Fibrin Monomer - Positive Abnormal
C-Reactive Protein - 13 High (0-3 normal range)
EBV AB VCA, IGG - 3.0 H (0-0.8 normal range)
EBV Nuclear AG - 8.0 H (0-0.8 normal range)
EBV Early Antigen - 8.0 H (0-0.8 normal range)

Looking at my lab results do you think I am lyme positive?

Hello Alicia, welcome to our community!

You have tested positive on your Lyme IgM Western Blot...yes you have LD.

Are you currently treating your Candida infection?

I'm assuming you have symptoms consistent with LD - and that's why you did the WB test.

While you are waiting for members to give you names of LLMD's - you could take a look at the thread at the top of the page titled: "New to Lyme?..Start Here!" It's got a lot of great information.
When you read through it, pay particular attention to the detoxing suggestions. That is something you will need to do - lots of detox...on a daily basis.
The detoxing will help you with the symptoms caused by the die-off of bacteria (herxing).

I'm sorry you have LD, but I am glad you found us here. This is a great community - lots of knowledge, and support here.

Yes I am currently treating for Candida with my family dr. Yes I have lots of the symptoms. I guess I just want to believe all my symptoms was from the candida and not really lyme. :-( Thanks I will check out the detox info.

So very sorry you had to find us, but you will be glad you did. Lots of well informed people here. I am clear across the United States in CA, so I am of no help to find you an LLMD in PA.

Be patient because lots of folks are celebrating Christmas. Hard to find them all here during the holidays.

Hi Alicia, I responded to the email you sent me directly regarding Pgh MD.

I was being treated for yeast and adrenal fatigue for close to a year before I asked for a Lyme test--CDC positive result. If you've been treating for yeast and not getting better, especially given your western blot, yeah, likely Lyme is really the cause.

I have been full blown sick about 13 years. New problems popping up every six months to 1 year. Newest problems is bladder spasms and constant urge. I feel like I have poison running through my veins. lol I am in so much pain. Chronic digestive issues, horrible sleep, nerve symptoms, muscle pains, eye problems, just to name a few. I think I may have gotten lyme 10 years before that because I had some symptoms but never thought much about them. Just odd things. I have a page and a half of symptoms. I am unable to work but not bed bound. I have to be very careful with what I do - I can only handle a little housework each day. Thanks - I emailed iliads but I don't expect to hear anything until after holidays. Merry Christmas!!

I have some improvement with candida treatment but there is something else wrong for sure. I would be bed bound I think if I wasn't doing the candida treatment. My doctors can't agree on a diagnosis because I am CDC negative so they don't think I have lyme but they have no idea what I do have. I just don't want to do all the antibiotics if it is not lyme. I never recall getting a tick on me. But I was bitten by tons of fleas about 20 some years ago. I moved into a house that was flea infested and didn't know until I moved in. Don't know if fleas carry lyme though. I just want to be sure before I put my body through all those antibiotics and spend a ton more money. @ziege - has your candida inproved? Re candida, I don't think candida was ever my primary issue. When I started treating with ABX, I was also pounding probiotics several times a day. I did not have any real issues with Candida during ABX treatment. However, when I stopped ABX, I also slacked off on the probiotics and several months later I did have gastric issues suggestive of yeast. Was given liquid nystatin, not the best but seemed to help somewhat.

What really made a huge difference was no longer using artificial sweeteners, Splenda in particular. The day, I'm not kidding, the day I stopped using Splenda in tea/coffee, my indigestion, gas and bloating went away. Apparently, a lot of these sweeteners are very very good at killing off the good bacteria in your digestive system.

I am once again on ABX, for Bartonella, taking multiple probiotics and am not having any obvious candida issues.
