(For the record, I typed this reply around 7 in the evening prior to ^Don's last post and I had forgot to hit the "submit" as I just
opened my laptop and saw it was still here....please excuse if any part seems redundant to what Don recently expressed)

For clarity, Don said:
"" How can you ignore the simple and scientific observation that a low grade fever is part of a healthy immune response? "" I totally agree that it is part of a healthy immune response of our body creating the inflammation to in return give healing.
Traveler, the 41 degree's celsius is egual to a 105.8 F fever in what we normally read on our thermometers....Of COURSE that would NOT be SAFE as that is equal to to scary hyperthermia territory!
So we all basically know that our bodies get fevers as a part of our natural immune response turning on along with inflammation to fight & help heal infections/viruses...this is a naturally occurring thing that happens in all of us and is mostly a good thing. I recall so many times where I had a nasty cold or flu and started running a fever and granted it made me feel worse because of the inflammation firing up to fight....but when the fever finally broke and I started to sweat that cold out---that was the best feeling! Then the next day, my cold/flu symptoms would be gone! It was thanks to my immune system kicking in hard and running that fever! Now I am talking my fevers being in the 99-103 range.
Soooo, quoting ""it has to be raised to a very dangerous level to provide any hope for it to be part of the treatment for these infections - 41 degrees C - that's 105 Fahrenheit!!""
^Do our bodies require 105 F temps to be required to help to help w/ healing?--no. Lower temps than 105F do have their place with fighting and healing.
Now, will a lower-grade temp eradicate lyme?--that answer is No also. We all know lyme is too tough & complex any way you look at it when trying to fight it.
Can it help?--I believe it can have its place with some healing and can help to a possible extent.
I just know that when I had the flu and let my fever run the last time, I was already so miserable with the double whammy of lyme + flu...I didnt know if I was coming or going because I just felt so bad in general so I could not tell if it was ultimately helping so much at that time. Maybe it did, maybe it didnt.
Ultimately, this is why our lyme ravaged bodies are essentially a big bowl of inflammation soup. When our immune system *does* recognize the lyme infection(that is when lyme is not trying to evade and hide from the immune system to survive), our immune system turns on and we can actually herx from just our immune system alone trying to fight and in turn causing the inflammation. The immune system alone just isnt enough to ERADICATE lyme relying on the normal immune response w/ our fighters cells(WBC's, T-Cells, etc.) that do normally knock out common colds and such.
BUT...lower grade fevers can have their place I believe.
The link I hade previously provided regarding Yolanda Fosters treatment stated:
“We’re going to put you in a sweatbox and create a 104 fever for four hours.” I’m like, “Why? I haven’t had a fever in years?” He said, “That’s why you’re so sick. That’s the body’s natural way of fighting bacteria.” In America when you get a fever it’s medicine to knock it. I’m learning a lot of things as I go."
Yolanda Foster was actually alot better after doing this treatment. They did not go past the 104 F temp though, as 105F would have been putting it over the edge and in scary hyperthermia/heat stroke territory. She was also of course closely monitored by Doctors with the still very high temp of 104 F.
I personally was always one of those people in my younger years when I ran a temp would go straight for the tylenol/aspirin. Now since having lyme and learning SO MUCH, in hindsight there were probably times when I had the common cold that I couldve NOT taken the tylenol and just let my immune system do its job and instead of reducing the uncomfortable symptoms I was experiencing from the inflammation my immune system was creating to fight...I shouldve just rode it out and I BET I wouldve probably gotten over the common cold quicker! Actually, I distinctly recall being at my mothers house one day in my early twenties running a fever and did not have any tylenol or aspirin on hand and I remember when that fever broke, my body starting sweating and everything just
openED UP and it was a good 'AHHHHH' feeling ...then I was pretty much over my cold.
So again, fevers can have their place with some healing...but not curative when comes to lyme. Its the right combination of many things for lyme as most of us know....
