What is the cause of low body temp? I get chilled and my body temp is around 96.4. I'm in thyroid meds... I'm also having bad panic attacks which are horrible! I was sweating earlier too... Oh an my jaws feel tight and so does my neck! Anyone know if these are typical of Co infections?

I was told I have temperature dysregulation from Lyme affecting my Autonomic Nervous system.
I think (if I remember correctly) the malfunctioning of my ANS is also responsible for my POTS symptoms.

Yes, those are all typical symptoms of Lyme and Co's.


Having said that...hypothyroid patients can also have low body temperature. Have you been tested since treating your thyroid? - not just TSH, but Free T3 and Free T4?
If so, what are your lab results?

I haven't been tested since starting Armour but I'm not going to take them for a few days to see if the anxiety goes away (Dr.s orders) I know my last few thyroid tests were barely hypothyroid... I'm going to start zithromax and mepron soon was hoping maybe that would take care of the temp problems

My tsh has been like 4.8 and the value mark stops at 4.5 t4 and t3 always normal

I had issues with low body temperature also. In October 2014, I would take my temperature daily. (It was around 96.? - 97.?)

I have been dealing with hypothyroid, overgrowth of Candida, and Lyme. I personally think that all three of these issues lead to my low body temperature.

I would get so cold, that I would wear a sweatshirt, jacket, and a blanket in the house. I started to have symptoms of Raynaud's. This is when my toes would turn white and feel numb, yet feel like they were burning. My toes looked so white as if there was no blood flow to them.

Hopefully someone can help you out with reading your thyroid results. I am not to good with that.

tbohl - Just a note, I dont want to repeat what is said here several times a week but oh well...........

In case you dont know this: Normal is not necessarily normal per the individual when speaking about thyroid ranges. Because Its just based on averages of a large group of people.

Although TSH is not a cell consumable hormone like the free's, and not as accurate as Free T3 and free T4. If your frees are in range, but lower than 75%, with that TSH of 4.8, I would not be surprised if you were indeed hypo. Once your on thyroid med, you need free T3 at least 75% up into the range to feel good.

Armour takes at least 6 weeks to see changes in labs and two months minimum to feel better. And most feel anxious when starting Armour and anything with T3 in it - that feeling eventually goes away if your iron and feritan are good, and your adrenals are not weak. It is hard to treat thyroid successfully if your adrenals per 24hr saliva test are high or low.

I have babesia, bartonella and lyme with some other things as well. My body temp was always low like 97ish and then when I started doxy and then azithromycin and malarone I have a fever on a daily basis that comes and goes. Just low grade. Not sure if that helps you out at all. But my body temp. Used to always be low.

it may be caused by mitocondrial damage caused by toxic waste from the ongoing battle inside you. mitocondria are the organelles inside cell responsible for energy production and are very vulnerable to toxic environment. Taking CoQ10 100mg twice daily does help a lot.

Hypothyroid, adrenal fatigue may also cause this, it's a good idea to take Ashwagandha for a limited amount of time while monitoring thyroid activity. It does work. But you need to be careful as sometimes taking it over a long time it overstimulates the gland.

It could be toxic waste damage! I used to have this problem bad then it went away for awhile now it's back, I'm going to be treating Babesia soon too as I have many Babesia symptoms... I'm thinking there are some correlations between the two, shaking chills, sweats, hot flashes

Yeah, I'm freezing to death over here, yet I just got these hot flashes in the middle and lower back regions, along my spine, when I was really focusing on something. I had to take my hoodie off. Then, I was an ice cube a minute later, so I got it back.

It's probably a combination of all of the things mentioned, for me anyway.
