There is no point in discussing recovery after 3 weeks of antibiotics, if your lyme is chronic. The lyme bacteria has a very long life span, of about
28 days. This means it divides once every 28 days. Most antibiotics only work when the bacteria is dividing. Hence in 28 days one bacteria will have lots of days when it is invulnerable to antibiotics and one minute of one day when it divides. All the antibiotics that are now on the market (with the exception of the combination of 3 found earlier last year which are only available in some limited trials in NY as far as we know - dapto, cefo, doxy) will not kill all bacteria, but just a percent of the total.
Sorry if this story was a bit long, but this will tell you that it is impossible to get well in one month. What happens is when the number of dead spirochetes reach a peak it happens mainly because both antibiotics and the immune system together achieve a higher kill per day. The immune system, when in good shape, can achieve the same thing helped by the herbs, without any antibiotics. When the dead pathogen load reaches this peak you feel worst.
You need to have lots of patience with this disease, and also stop asking yourself what happened on a weekly basis, you will reach no conclusion. The only thing you can say for sure, is on long term, months. With proper treatment you should get less bad days and more good days and in many months the bad days will be so few or with so little symptoms you will not notice it at all. That is what we call remission. If you live a healthy life style and keep taking some low dose herbs, you will not have problems. It certainly does not mean you got rid of the bacteria. Nobody does...
When i felt worst the only thing that truly helped me was activated charcoal, taken at night on empty stomach. Toxins from dead bacteria are excreted into bile in your duodenum and some will be reabsorbed into blood stream. The charcoal will bind these toxins and help you flush them out. I tried many other things, lemon water, chlorella, magnesium, etc... they do help but nothing even nearly as powerful as this charcoal...
