Welcome kbuzz1!
Girlie gave you a lot of great information.
My signature tells a story of undertreated Lyme....along with coinfections left untreated....until I took things into my own hands after my LLMD released me at 90% healed.
It's quite unlikely that we only get one infection from the salad bowl of infections known as tick saliva.
And, healthy people are walking around with asymptomatic Babesia and Bartonella infections. Even the CDC acknowledges this on their website:
www.cdc.gov/parasites/babesiosis/"
Although many people who are infected with Babesia do not have symptoms, for those who do effective treatment is available."
www.cdc.gov/bartonella/clinicians/index.html"
Most cases of cat scratch disease (CSD) resolve without treatment", although some patients may develop complications from disseminated disease.
Cat scratch disease is the henselae strain of Bartonella which is a common coinfection to Lyme. Actually, researchers and savvy doctors are now saying that Bartonella is so prevalent that Lyme should be considered the coinfection.
If healthy people can have no symptoms of Babesia or Bartonella and still be infected, it's entirely possible that those of us dealing with any of these infections could also be infected with Babesia and/or Bartonella....and not necessarily have any symptoms...or have mild symptoms...or just one symptom (mild or not).
I'm happy to hear that you're not herxing. However, I'd prefer to hear that you're improving. Making small changes that bring you to the level of herxing....and then you backing down to the previous dose....is what can help bring you closer to healing more quickly.
There's a chance you have another infection impeding your healing from Lyme. These bugs form biofilm with each other so it seems to be a good idea to trial herbs that also address Babesia and Bartonella.
Bartonella is infamous for causing pain.
Perhaps you might want to try Buhner's latest Bartonella protocol. And, you also might want to expand your current Lyme protocol to be closer to his latest one.
Both new protocols incorporate helpful supplement suggestions to support the parts of the body under attack as well as herb recommendations for specific symptoms.
I agree these infections are crazy. I have a few other choice words but this is a PG forum ;)
Oh, as a long-time thyroid patient, I caution you about
daily intake of kale. Kale can suppress thyroid function. Lyme is famous for doing the same.
