The Waiting Game

Hi everyone,

Thanks to everyone who replied to my last post about a possible lymes case, you all have been so helpful. I have an appointment to see a Lyme Literate Naturopath Doctor on February 17th.

I am so extremely anxious waiting. I have been trying to do some detox baths and drinking lemon water to see if that would help me in the mean time. But everyday I wake up with pain all over my body in different spots. It just travels from joint to joint, and some muscle pain as well.

I was wondering how long does it take (generally) to get your results back from the Ignex test? I wonder how long this whole process will take, and in the mean time how much damage is being done to my body?

Everyday I am scared some new symptom will crop up but it hasn't yet. And the other side of me wonders what if its not Lymes disease and then I'm back on the hunt again. (The only other thing I could think of would be Fibromyalgia which my doctor never mentioned). Also I know lupus can be a hard disease to pin down but I tested negative for it.

I am so upset, I just want to know what is happening to me. I keep imagining me 20 years from now with all the same problems, possibly in a wheel chair or something. I feel like I am going INSANE.

I guess I just keep looking for confirmation from anywhere I can but I know I just have to wait. In the mean time I've been reading a lot of these forums.

If anyone cares to share their diagnoses story that would be very interesting and helpful.

Evianangel, I am not a very patient person at all and I can remember waiting for my lyme doc appointment, it was going to take forever. In hindsight this is what I should have done.

Call the lyme doc and say "I think I may have lyme and I do have an appointment. Is there anyway I can have a blood draw and sent to Igenex prior to that appointment so I will be really ready for the doctor?"

Because once you go to the doc and get that blood draw it may take 3 weeks for him to get the results.

I went to the first ND that would do my blood draw...then searched out the LL Dr. that I really wanted to see while I waited for the results...it wasn't her...and she was a bit miffed...and I actually fought with her to get my results....but in the end, she did send them to my GP.

evianangel - you should have a LifeLabs in Vernon...and if not there - then Kelowna - that you can get the blood drawn. So, Dr. B. can have the lab req filled out and you can just go pick it up. Hopefully he is agreeable to that.
My husband did his test with Lifelabs and they knew what they were doing...had done them before.

The Igenex test results take about 3 weeks. Unless it's a recent infection...a few more weeks won't make a lot of difference....don't worry about that. If I'm remembering correctly - you've had symptoms for awhile.

I don't buy the Fibromyalgia diagnosis. What I've noticed...is the list of symptoms for fibro is growing. Last article I read: muscle pain, joint pain, depression, brain fog, buzzing/vibrations.
Hmmm...sounds like lyme to me....something with a cause....and a treatment....
