Ok, so a few days ago I took garlic tabs to combat Candida, and I woke up the following day feeling like I had the stomach virus. I didn't throw up, but my stomach hurt and I had diarrhea. I also had a low grade fever. I felt sick until I took alkaseltzer gold and then I was ok. I figured that was a herx.
Last night I went out with my husband and had some sweet potato fries. My stomach actually started to feel funny as I was eating them, so I stopped. I have been eating very very clean and adhering to the anti-canada diet. I figured it would be ok to eat these, since I had them 3 weeks ago without a problem, however I have been eating even more clean since.
I woke up from a horrible nightmare and stomach pains last night. (same thing happened when I took the garlic). Is it possible that bc i am eating so clean that if I eat something not fresh this could happen? if this is the case, then I will literally only be able to have salads minus dressings and bring my own. So pathetic, but it is NOT worth eating something to cause me to feel like this the following day, ugh, those fries were not THAT good!!! I also just drank seltzer with lemon in it.
This is so worrisome though, it just feels like I will never be able to eat normally again. But I did read in the Candida book that you must not "cheat" (although I didnt think i was cheating bc sweet potatoes are ok - I guess it's bc of the preservatives and whatever else was in them). The book says that when you are healing your body, it is important to stay on track - I just didn't expect to have this bad of a reaction!
But I also ran 3 miles yesterday again, could the exercise have caused this? I guess time will tell bc i am drinking my alkaseltzer gold now, will absolutely NOT eat anything that is not home cooked and fresh and I am slated to run again tmrw, so we will see where that takes me.
any thoughts??
