Please Help With My 21 yo Daughter - TRICHOMONIASIS - Afraid To Treat Her For Anything

Like so many other parents on this forum, I have been stumbling along this path and always using myself as guinea pig first. My daughter has even more symptoms (20 year history) of some stealth pathogen(s) attacking her immune system. It was almost "her turn" after mom had successfully treated/responded the first wave of parasitic cleansing on herself with ADP oregano.

She tried it but due to anxiety/panic attacks/racing heart episodes, even the "mild" herxing made her scared.

AT THE SAME TIME she had gone to a local clinic due to a female issue she was having (a discharge). For background, she and her boyfriend live together, are tied at the hip - very monogamous relationship. She had fatigue as well so they ran every panel/lab on her.

Everything came back beautiful on labwork, except diagnosed with HSV-1 (never even had a cold sore, so a shock). But the gynecologist testing showed NOTHING. Discharge is not BV, not candida....she is 100% certain every symptom she has was TRICHOMONIASIS. A parasite - which even makes sense as we work toward a Lyme and co-infection diagnosis.

But the test came in and it was negative. She begged them to give her something, being in misery, and they said "no." She was thinking of pursuing a different clinic, to see if they would treat with abx while waiting for a test.

So I looked up this parasite, trusting her intuitiveness on her symptoms, and it is treated with Flagyl (metronidazole). Alarms went off in my head. If she pursues this and succeeds at getting the abx, it is one used for LYME/CO-INFECTIONS RIGHT??? This means she could herx like crazy from it!

Though I am not an abx person, always choosing herbal, because my daughter got spooked on the herbal route she is a bit gun shy to try anything and was considering abx if a doctor approved - so her treatment is at a dead stop. I always tell her my opinions but support her choices as an adult to choose abx or herbal.

So now I have a daughter in misery who is certain she has trich - who is afraid to touch the ADP oregano right in front of her and might pursue a doc who would prescribe Flagyl....which she could herx bad from due to her main parasitic issues, which a clinic doc would never comprehend.

PLEASE...WHAT DO I DO NOW?

She can't go on like this with these trich symptoms.......is anyone familiar with it? Again, she tested negative, not positive....is testing for trich as challenging as testing for other parasites? What else could it be when all STD tests, candida, BV....EVERYTHING came back negative (and it was extensive testing).

If she has Trich she will smell it! Probably not the best way to say it but it is the truth.

And, if treated she must have her boyfriend treated too or she will get it again and again.

From experience I speak. Eons ago I had a boyfriend that swore nothing was wrong with him and I had a "problem." Well, he kept giving and giving me that problem. Men have no signs, women do!

The prescription I got was just an antibiotic. I think it was Amoxicilliin, gosh it was so long ago, like 30 years.

I'm not a doctor and don't know your daughter's specific symptoms. However, check out Tinidazole. It is much easier to tolerate than Flagyl. It is used for BV and Trichomoniasis.

The downside is that Tinidazole and Flagyl are considered "cyst busters." If your daughter has Lyme, it may stir things up. However, if she has an infection, it should be treated. I think she should get a second opinion.
