Not sure if there are any currently on the forum.

I'm getting close to starting mine...but on one list of contraindications - antibiotics was listed.
This is due to the effect it has on the liver...so resulting in possibly higher concentrations of the drug in your system...maybe resulting in liver toxicity.

I can't find the link.

Anyone know if monthly liver tests would be good enough to watch this? I'm thinking it would happen over time...(hoping I wouldn't just 'croak' one day from sudden liver damage)

Hey Girlie! What does your LLMD/LLND think using both at the same time?? What brand/company are you using? I just ordered mine from doseofnature, and I'm really excited to start using it, as well as the Rife/douglas coil, but I haven't decided on which to get it...anyway...I would call the company and see if any lymies have been using abx while using CBD. If it does cause possible liver toxicity or makes your liver work harder, definitely a good idea to get monthly LFTs, etc. done.

My LLND never said much about it when I told him several weeks ago.
I did talk to Dr. Murakami (the retired LLMD who is currently doing research on CBD oil and lyme) and he said it's fine with antibiotics...and I have read some stories of people doing both together...but I'm a worry wart - it's my nature...so can't help it.

When I purchased it, I asked them about it...but can't remember if they just said that many people are using it who have lyme...or if they said people with lyme on antibiotics are using it.

I faithfully do my liver function tests every four weeks...and hoping I would see some elevations happening...before my liver just shuts down. skull

Girlie, I honestly don't think you have anything to worry about. Cannabis and any of the cannabinoids in cannabis are actually very healthy compounds, antioxidants, neuro-protective, anti-carcinogenic, protect the liver and pretty much any cell in the body. If anything, it will protect your body from the harmful effects of antibiotics, while simultaneously working as one too.

The only way it's bad for health is the THC can stimulate cannabinoid receptors getting us high and there is some cognitive impairment from that as glutamate neurons slow the rate of firing in the cognitive areas of the brain.

But you are doing the CBD which is opposite to the THC in that it works as an antagonist, binding the receptor sites but not activating them, causing your body to make it's own natural cannabinoids.

I was going to say the same thing, from what I've read and understood, it heals the liver, so you shouldn't have anything to worry about, especially if you are going to continue having your blood tested to see how your liver is actually doing monthly.

Girlie...My wife has been using CBD oil from the same place in yvr for about 6 months. She has a very sensitive and grumpy liver (a result of her days on antibiotics) and uses milk thistle to calm it. She has experienced no adverse reactions from the CBD oil so far, but she did start slowly with the dosage and worked up to what she is at now.

CBD oil is generally used for liver cancer. It heals the liver....

Good to be a worry wort. I am the same way! I do not think in 4 weeks between liver tests you will do any damage.

SPD - Is your wife using it for lyme disease? And has she had improvements?

Girlie....yes she is using it for Lyme...chronic late stage neuro Lyme. It helps with pain, brain fog, she sleeps better, and it calms the quirky urinary symptoms. We also feel that it increases the effectiveness of the Cowden Protocol that she is following.

Sounds good, SPD. I'm hoping for more than symptom relief....hoping that Dr. Murakami's test tube studies translates into humans, and it also kills the bacteria.

I read somewhere that Green Cross was selling CBD oil made from hemp, NOT made from cannabis. Have you heard anything like this?

Toronto - Hemp and Marijuana are just different strains of Cannibis.

The hemp is used for the CBD oil and has only a minute amount of THC in it...so virtually no psychoactive properties.
That is why it's available without a Dr.'s letter.
Medical marijuana - on the other hand is sold there but requires a form filled out by a Dr.

The CBD oil is what Dr. Murakami and Eva Sapi are using in their research.
